The 1st Brasilian International Lodge About Us
After receiving its Charter in 2002, the Brazilian Lodge No.1182 has created its own identity through its crew of Laborers, brothers willing to enrich this beloved Institution by the determination of their character to spreading the principles of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
Therefore, it is possible to affirm that joint efforts and the unconditional support of several Brothers and Dignitaries, who point out new groups by means of their particularities in common, consolidate the foundation of New Masonic Lodges. The main advantage of Brazilian Lodge 1182, is to provided a place that welcomes all Brethren visiting New York in Portuguese language, making them feel like home.
vISIT US
We engage in the practice of being good to others, that is, one has to abide by the rule of doing to others what one hopes others do to one. We love our country and serve God with reverence. We engage to treat our family with kindness and affection, to be humble and assist those who need the most.
From a bond created in La Fraternidade No.387 meetings, the Brazilian Lodge No.1182 is derived from the idealization of Brazilians who yearned for a Lodge where the Portuguese language was used. It would later propitiate a strong bond as well as the integration among Masonic Brothers from Brazil and the United States. Since 2001, thereby, that is what we have practiced in our meetings that currently happen on the 1st and 2nd Fridays, on the 12th floor of Masonic Hall – Gothic Room 71 West 23rd Street, in New York
DO YOU KNOW the freemasonry?
It was a memorable movement from the Modern period, which gave Masonry a speculative direction. It makes the Masonic Order a great union where diverse knowledge is constructed, based on the principles of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. From 1717 until now, after a gathering of four Londoner Masonic Lodges, the number of Lodges and Grand Lodges recognized in several countries worldwide has not stopped increasing.
It is also common for Masonry to be defined as a “thousand-living institution” since much information from the first ones to put it in practice has been lost in the past. Thus, it is believed that this is a based-in-tradition order, such as the History of Universe, that owns previous actions beyond what is documented.
